Dr. Kim is a cardiologist with the Advanced heart failure, Cardiac transplant, and Mechanical Circulatory Support Program at the University of Chicago Medicine. He is Assistant Professor of Medicine and the Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship Program Director. His medical school, residency, and fellowship training were completed at the University of Chicago. Dr. Kim’s research interests include the genetic and epigenetic regulation of heart failure and arrhythmogenesis with publications on the role of microRNAs in cardiomyopathy. His interests also include myocardial recovery, extracellular matrix in failing myocardium, and the role of inflammation and angiogenesis in LVAD patients. He has published over 100 articles and book chapters and is an investigator in numerous clinical trials.
